Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

27th May 2015

On Friday 22nd May 2015 we reported that on Thursday 21st May 2015 the team had received an email from Paul Wightman of the Rotary Club of Bolton Le Moors;

“Dear sirs,

As part of our contribution to the last “Ironman” event in Bolton, we nominated Bolton Mountain Rescue as one of our beneficiary charities.

We now have a cheque for you, and would like to arrange an appropriate opportunity to present it.
Regards, Paul Wightman, Rotary Club of Bolton le Moors.”

This evening at 19.00hrs prior to our departure for our weekly training exercise, four representatives of Bolton Le Moors Rotary Club attended our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ to make their kind donation presentation to us.

All team members present were totally surprised to be presented with a truly wonderful donation of £410.00 raised through the Rotarians assistance with the Ironman UK event held in Bolton on 20th July 2014.

This very supportive donation was accepted by our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, in the company of many colleague team members.

Attending from the Rotary Club of Bolton Le Moors were President Graham Ellis, Past President Stephen Griffiths, Club Secretary Roy Gibbins and Chairman of Community Service Paul Wightman.

All four following their kind donation handover were given a quick tour of our Base / HQ and team vehicles, before we all departed for the training exercise location.

Our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE is now arranging to meet the Rotarians of Bolton Le Moors, at one of their Last Drop Village, Wednesday evening meetings, to hand over a Plaque from Bolton MRT thanking Bolton Le Moors Rotary Club for their kind and appreciated support of Bolton MRT over the years.

Bolton Le Moors Rotary Club are also in the process contacting other charities they have chosen as beneficiaries of their kindness, to hand over more generous donations.

Please also see website ‘News’ reports dated 22nd May 2015, 28th November 2010 (hand over of a £500.00 donation), 26th May 2010 (hand over of a £200.00 donation) and 25th March 2009 (hand over of a £75.00 donation)
