Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

29th May 2015

On Wednesday evening 27th May 2015, prior to our departure for our weekly training exercise, four representatives of Bolton Le Moors Rotary Club attended our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ to make a very kind donation presentation to us.

All team members present during their visit were totally surprised to be presented with a truly wonderful donation of £410.00 raised through the Rotarians assistance with the Ironman UK event held in Bolton on 20th July 2014.

This very supportive donation was accepted by our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, in the company of many colleague team members.

Attending from the Rotary Club of Bolton Le Moors were President Graham Ellis, Past President Stephen Griffiths, Club Secretary Roy Gibbins and Chairman of Community Service Paul Wightman.

All four following their kind donation handover were given a quick tour of our Base / HQ and team vehicles, before we all departed for the training exercise location.

Today we have received a very kind email sent to the team from Bolton Le Moors Rotary Club Chairman of Community Service Paul Wightman;

“Dear Garry,

Thank you for your time last Wednesday, and the tour of your facilities.

It was very clear that you and your volunteers are a very professional facility in the North West.

I have put a note in my diary on July 1st to invite you to one of our Club meetings in either July or August.

We meet at 7.30pm on Wednesdays at the Last Drop Hotel, Bromley Cross.

I am mindful that you yourselves met on Wednesday evenings, so would ask you to suggest the most convenient date to suit your plans.

I have attached the photographs we took on the evening as promised, and would be grateful of any publicity for the Club, you could generate

I look forward to hearing from you in the near future, and on behalf of the Club would like to wish Bolton Mountain Rescue every success in the future.

Regards, Paul Wightman, Rotary Club of Bolton le Moors.”
