Our readers are by now well aware that we are currently in the process of reviewing our rope access training, which is a direct follow on to the training received on the recent visit by five team members to Lyon Equipment on Saturday 18th April 2015 (Please see website report dated the same)
This evening, no team training exercise took place due to the team having a commitment tomorrow evening.
However such is the keenness of our membership that some members met this evening at our GMFRS Bolton North Community Fire Station garage, and further practiced and reviewed our rope access training.
Present for this training was Team Equipment Officer – Ropes and Stretchers Nigel Booth, Team Equipment Officer – Medical Mark Scott, Chairman Craig Lamb, Michael Wakerley, Phil Crook, Tony Dawson, Gary Melia and Trainee team member Steve James.
Again following the usual format, very comprehensive and intense training took place, including looking at anchoring ropes, methodology for embankment working, use of the SAR Pro Allp, Petzl ID and Petzl ASAP lock.
This is part of a series of awareness sessions in rope access training being undertaken within the team membership by Team Equipment Officer – Ropes and Stretchers Nigel Booth and our Training Officer Alistair Greenough.
