On Sunday 17th May 2015, we reported within the ‘News’ section of our website, that twenty one team members, in our four Land Rover Defender Mountain Rescue Ambulances, our Ford Transit Minibus and our Incident Control Vehicle, provided standby rescue cover for the ‘Fell Run’ section of this years Darwen Leisure Centre Aquathon.
The race, organised by Blackburn with Darwen Council, commenced at 11.00hrs, taking in a course around the base of Jubilee Tower, Darwen, around to Aggies Staircase and onto Darwen Moor, descending after Jubilee Tower towards the Sunnyhurst area, and back to Bold Venture Park.
All the runners who completed the fell race did so safely, and there was no call upon the services of team members who were out and about around the course.
Today we are very pleased to report the receipt of a kind £150.00 donation from Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, as thanks for our help with this years Darwen Leisure Centre Aquathon.
The Bolton MRT wishes to pass on its thanks to all at Darwen Leisure Centre and at Blackburn with Darwen borough Council for their appreciated and continuing support of the Bolton MRT.
