Over the weekend of the 4th & 5th July 2015, the ninth annual Blackrod Scarecrow Festival was held with 131 officially registered Scarecrows (and many more not registered) in various locations around Blackrod, which engaged the whole community, with many events including school fates, open days and associated events held over the same weekend.

This year we are delighted to report that Bolton Mountain Rescue Team was supported by a fantastic friend of the team, with their own version of Scarecrow Mountain Rescue, with Scarecrows mimicking the team (Some would say that’s how we dress normally!)

Our Team Treasurer Martin Banks visited the event with his family, and reported back that “The event was very well attended with Blackrod buzzing with activity and family’s searching for the Scarecrows.” The residents and business went all out this year with some fantastic scarecrows.

Obviously we think Scarecrow Mountain Rescue was the best display ever !
