With four team members co-incidentally at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ carrying out various maintenance and administrative tasks, we were contacted directly by NWAS (Manchester) Emergency Control Centre at 15.36hrs via radio link regards the report of an injured woman walker in the Rivington area, with the Emergency Ambulance crew already on scene requesting our assistance.

Vehicles went mobile from our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ commencing at 15.44hrs, with our first team member (Mark Scott) meeting up with the responding NWAS Emergency Ambulance crew at the Rivington Hall Barn at 15.51hrs.

Our Deputy Team Leader Geoff Seddon then arrived on scene, and using his own 4×4 vehicle, transported the casualties husband, an NWAS Paramedic and Mark Scott up into the Terraced Gardens at Rivington, where the injured woman had slipped on a path, sustaining a suspected dislocated knee.

Our two responding team Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulances arrived at the Rivington Hall Barn RVP at 15.54hrs and 15.57hrs, with our BM1 vehicle accessing the Terraced Gardens with five crew on board, and our BM2 vehicle ferrying other responding members up to the casualty site.

With pain killing gas available, the injured woman from the Horwich area, was firstly placed in our Deputy Team Leaders vehicle, and then into our BM1 vehicle, and by 16.25hrs was transferred directly into the responding NWAS (Manchester) Emergency Ambulance, which then left for Royal Bolton Hospital.

In total 19x Bolton MRT team members were involved on scene with this incident, most being held in reserve on scene in case of need. A further six Bolton MRT members were stood down responding.
