This evening as with all previous New Year Eve’s (for well over eleven years now) the team has had all four of it’s Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulances available, at the disposal of NWAS (Greater Manchester) who were expecting a very high volume of calls upon its services.
The team was working alongside St John Ambulance and British Red Cross resources also drafted in to help NWAS on what is now its busiest evening and early morning of the year. Team members were declared available to NWAS at 20.30hrs this evening.
The team had all four of our Land Rover MR Ambulances crewed, each with three appropriately trained MR personnel on board, all co-ordinated from our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ by our ’Control Team,’ themselves in contact with NWAS (Greater Manchester) Belle Vue Emergency Control Centre. In total we had fifteen team members on immediate standby at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ.
In the event the team was not required to assist NWAS until the early hours of New Years Day, 1st January 2012, and so we ended 2011 with a total of 74 Incidents attended by the team over the year.
