On Sunday 14th June 2015 the team provided standby rescue cover for this years Prestwich Challenge Sunday event, organised by Prestwich Athletics Club.
This was a new event regarding our involvement, a multi terrain 8 mile challenge event organised by Glenn Martin of Prestwich Athletics Club, starting and finishing at Sedgley Park Rugby Club, Whitefield, which served to raise a large sum of money for designated local charities.
The course which attracted hundreds of enthusiastic runners, took in the many trails and tracks through the Philips Park, Prestwich Forest Park and Drinkwater Park areas, including steep wooded hillsides, stream runs and crossings and even short tunnel sections!
Twenty two team operational members were on hand, in all four of our Land Rover Defender Mountain Rescue Ambulances, our Ford Transit Crewbus / Ambulance and our Incident Control Vehicle.
On Friday 4th September our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE received from Glenn Martin of Prestwich Athletics Club a fantastic £250.00 donation to the Bolton MRT as thanks for our help on Sunday 14th June 2015.
The sincere thanks of all the team membership is extended to Glenn Martin and all members of Prestwich Athletics Club, for this very kind and supportive donation.
We have been asked, and accepted, by the organisers to provide similar cover for their 2016 Prestwich Challenge Sunday event.
