Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

19th November 2011

At 14:31 this afternoon, the team was paged by NWAS Manchester Emergency Control Centre who were requesting our assistance at an incident on the grounds of Dunscar Golf Club, near to Egerton in Bolton.

The call was promptly answered by our Deputy Team Leader Geoff Seddon and full details were sent out to the team at 14:36.

One team Land Rover from our Ladybridge Hall Base/HQ soon departed with three team members on board, arriving at the location of the incident at 14:54, which was some way down the “track” part of Longworth Lane which runs through the Golf Club. In the meantime other team members had made their way directly to the scene, with the first members arriving a few minutes earlier.

The two NWAS Ambulance crews in attendance, both from Bolton North Ambulance Station along with an NWAS Officer were dealing with a seriously ill male who was suffering from the effects of hypothermia.

Several members of the team quickly assisted the NWAS staff with the short carry of the male off the golf course and into the NWAS vehicles parked nearby, whereupon one of the ambulances quickly departed for Royal Bolton Hospital, with considerable concern for the gentleman’s condition.

The following resources were involved in this incident:

  • NWAS Manchester Emergency Control Centre
  • Two NWAS Emergency Ambulances from Bolton North Ambulance Station
  • One NWAS “Bronze” Officer
  • Bolton Mountain Rescue Team – one Land Rover and a total of 18 personnel, with a further three stood down responding
