Not previously reported, has been the receipt by the team on Sunday 8th November 2015, whilst we were in attendance at the Lead Mines Valley Remembrance Sunday Service, of a letter and enclosed very kind donation from our valued team friend David Bisset.

In August 2005, Iain Bisset whilst climbing with his father and fellow climber David Bisset, at Ousel’s Nest Quarry, Chapeltown, suffered injuries in a climbing accident, to which the team and the ambulance service were called.

Iain thankfully went on to make a full recovery, and soon went back to rock climbing at a high standard, and since this time has travelled and worked abroad extensively.

Since the accident, David his father, Iain and their family, have become valued, stalwart and very much appreciated, regular supporters and friends of the team.

In his letter, David states;

“Dear Garry,

Remembrance Day greetings to all in the team (webmaster; David meets up with us every year, during his attendance at the Service at Lead Mines Valley)

Enclosed is a donation of £50.00 towards your costs.

The years seem to pass very quickly, November again and Christmas not far away.

As for Iain, he has spent much of the year in Sierra Leone, helping to run Ebola hospitals for MSF (webmaster ; Medecins Sans Frontieres) and is now off to the Democratic Republic of Congo to

organise medical supplies for 6 to 9 months.

As ever the entire team membership extends its sincere thanks to David Bisset and his family, for such continued and very appreciated kind and thoughtful support of the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.

We also extend our best wishes to Iain for his valued work in Sierra Leone and wish him well whilst in the DMC.
