Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

18th December 2015

In the early hours of this morning GMP called out our colleagues at Oldham MRT in regards to a missing female possibly in the Dovestones / Chew Valley area.

Oldham MRT including two of their teams mountain rescue air scenting search dog units, deployed quickly to the area, which is very close to both of their garage locations.

At circa 03.00hrs our Mountain Rescue Trailing Search Dog Boris was requested to join in the developing search, with Handler Steve Nelson and navigator Elaine Gilliland, quickly leaving their Bolton home to journey across Greater Manchester to Chew Valley.

Upon their arrival they joined in the search operation.

At circa 05.50hrs our Mountain Rescue DVSD Dog Sasha was requested to attend the same incident, with our DVSD Handler Dave Marsh departing his Bolton home shortly thereafter.

As the search developed assistance was also requested from Calder Valley SRT.

Just before dawn the missing person was located and both our deployed Search Dogs, Steve, Elaine and Dave were all stood down on scene, as was the request for the assistance of CVSRT.

By 10.30hrs Dave Marsh was back home.
