This evening as with all previous New Year Eve’s (For eighteen years now, commencing on 31st December 1998) the team has all four of it’s Land Rover Defender Mountain Rescue Ambulances, its Minibus Ambulance and our Incident Control Vehicle available, at the disposal of NWAS (Greater Manchester) who are expecting a very high volume of calls upon its services, as part of the NWAS ‘Step Up’ procedure to mobilise additional resources to cope with the situation.

We were formally requested this evening, to be available at the request and tasking of NWAS (Greater Manchester) EOC Parkway.

Two team members attended a briefing meeting at NWAS EOC Parkway this evening at 20.00hrs.

The team is working alongside additional resources also drafted in to help NWAS on what is now its busiest evening and early morning of the year.

All four of our Land Rover Defender Mountain Rescue Ambulances, Minibus Ambulance and Incident Control Vehicle are available, crewed with appropriately trained team personnel on board, all co-ordinated from our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ by our ’Control Team,’ themselves in contact with NWAS (Greater Manchester) Emergency Operations Centre, Parkway.

In total this evening we had twelve team Call Out list members, assisted by team friend Louise Copley (helping with logging tasks) on immediate standby at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ.

Thanks are expressed to team member Neil Haigh, who called in this evening at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ, after completing a long day shift in his full time employment with St John Ambulance, to drop off a box of chocolates for his team colleagues out this evening.

As it turned out, no incidents were attended on New Years Eve, though at the request of NWAS EOC, team vehicles were placed at specific locations to provide cover for potential need.

Those present stayed on in to the morning to respond to any incidents attended after midnight, in to the early hours of New Years Day.

We ended 2015 having been involved in total with ninety nine incidents over the year.
