As well as being part of the Full Team Callout list, a number of members are also involved with local Scouting groups.

Two of our members, Steve Fletcher and Mike Marsh, are involved in organising the Pike View Hike which takes place in April/May each year and is open to any Cub or Scout groups to take part. The Adult Pike View Hike is open to Scout Leaders, parents and colleagues, and keeps the same ’party of 4 walkers’ format, and of course, the adults know what they are doing, don’t they?

This morning Steve and Mike were joined by Team Training Officer Elaine Gilliland, Call Out list member John Fletcher, and husband and wife, Support Group members Doctor Clare and Peter Whitney to carry out the kit checks, ready for the 07:30hrs start of the walk.

Catering help to the event was kindly provided by Bolton MRT husband and wife Support Group members Howard and Teresa Gilliland.

The walkers have to report to a number of check points, and at these are given tasks to carry out.

The event took place in glorious sunny conditions throughout the day.
