Today long serving team member and Deputy Team Leader Chris Greenhalgh, attended a full day course in Civil Protection Training at GMP Force Headquarters in Manchester.
Alongside Chris on this course were GMP Officers from various different departments and representatives from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, the Environment Agency and Transport for Greater Manchester (TGM).
The course was designed to give Bronze and Silver officers and multi agency partners an introduction to the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and look at emergency planning, risk management and provide an overview of the emergency response arrangements across Greater Manchester.
This included categories of responders, national and local risk assessments, emergency management framework, JESIP, community resilience, inter agency working, strategic and tactical coordinating groups, large incidents in the UK, incident planning, response and recovery followed by learning and improving.
Bolton MRT would like to thank The Association of Greater Manchester Authorities (AGMA) Civil Contingencies Team for providing us with a place on this course and Chris would like to thank Phil Trindle from the Emergency Response College for a very informative and well presented training course.
