Not previously reported has been the recent receipt of a marvellous donation from the Rotary Club of Senlac – serving Hastings, Bexhill and Rother.
In a letter dated 9th January 2016, addressed to our Team Leader, Garry Rhodes MBE, John Relfe, secretary of Senlac Rotary Club stated;
“Dear Mr Rhodes,
On behalf of Senlac Rotary Club I have pleasure in enclosing a cheque for £500.00 for your funds.
At a recent meeting we agreed that we wanted to do something to help those in the north of England who have been suffering from the terrible weather conditions recently experienced.
One of our members, Barry Pick, was originally from Stockport so we asked him for ideas.
He has a contact through Melvyn Dickinson (Webmaster – Melvyn John Dickinson, a current Bolton MRT operational member)
He suggested your organisation.
Having viewed your website it seemed an obvious choice.
The work you all do on a purely voluntary basis with, I understand, no central funding is remarkable.
Keep up the good work : I am sure many people who have been flooded out in the past few weeks are most grateful that such a group of selfless people are around to help.
Kind regards, John Relfe, secretary, Rotary Club of Senlac.
The entire team membership extends its very grateful thanks to the kind Rotarians of the Rotary Club of Senlac (serving Hastings, Bexhill and Rother) for such a thoughtful and generous donation, and to Rotarian Barry Pick for suggesting us as a charity to support.
A Plaque of Thanks is now being arranged by our Secretary Gillian Gregory, to send to the Rotarians of Senlac Rotary Club to show our appreciation of such kind support.
