Throughout 2015, local brewer Bank Top Brewery and their two public houses, The Brewery Tap on Belmont Road, Bolton, and The Ale House in Church Street, Horwich, have been selling badges in the form of miniature pump clips of their twelve brewed beers to raise funds for their six charities to support, all thoughtfully chosen by the brewery owner, David Sweeney.
Each charity would benefit from the sale of two different badges for two months and the money raised, along with a very kind ‘top up’ donation from the brewery, would be presented at the end of the year.
This evening our Team Secretary, Gillian Gregory, accompanied by long-serving team member Mike Marsh and Equipment Officer (Medical) Steve James, attended a Presentation Evening at Bank Top Brewery’s public house, The Ale House Church Street, Horwich.
David Sweeney very kindly presented cheques totalling around £2,000 to The Stroke Association, Sharples Wrestling Club, Parkinsons UK, Derian House Children’s Hospice, Motor Neurone Disease Association and Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.
Mike Marsh was delighted to receive a cheque on behalf of Bolton Mountain Rescue Team for the wonderful sum of £256.15 from David, whom he thanked for such great support.
Each charity also received samples of the twelve badges which had been on offer.
We would like to thank David Sweeney for kindly choosing to support Bolton Mountain Rescue Team, all at Bank Top Brewery and their public houses for their great support in selling the badges, and, of course, their kind customers who bought the badges to support the six charities.
Sincere thanks are also expressed to The Ale House for their hospitality during the evening.
