Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

2nd September 2011

The team has been invited to provide three Mountain Rescue awareness sessions to new aircrew staff members at the North West Air Ambulance at City Airport, Manchester (Barton) where its aircraft ’Helimed 72’ is based. (NWAA also operate an aircraft from Blackpool Squires Gate Airport, ’Helimed 08,’ duty crews being ’shared’ between both locations)

This morning Team Training Officer, Elaine Gilliland, and Call Out Team Member, Diane Blakeley, travelled to City Airport for the third of three sessions.
Arriving at 10:10 hrs, Diane and Elaine were informed that Helimed had been deployed and had been away some time.

Diane and Elaine took advantage of the spare time and went for coffee, although after approximately 1 hour, Helimed were still not back from the incident and so it was decided to rearrange the session for another date.
