This evening, experienced team members Gill Leigh, Paul Copley, Kris Kilshaw and Heath Doran welcomed to Ladybridge Hall Base, members from 6th Horwich Scout Troop. 15 scouts and 4 leaders (including Rob Leigh, Gill’s son) attended for the evening session.
The evening began with a talk and overview of the work of the team followed by a short film to show how being a team member impacts on family life. The scouts were then split into 2 groups to rotate around three different stations. They went on to explore one of our team Land Rovers and all the equipment contained within it. Following this they were introduced to Lurch (our Human patient simulator) to learn about airways and basic life support techniques. Finally the scouts assembled our SAR Alpine Lite stretcher and found out how heavy it is to carry one of their members!
Just before leaving the scouts gave team members a hearty BRAVO and presented them with a cheque for the magnificent sum of £50. The whole team membership would like to thank 6th Horwich Scouts for this fantastic donation and hope they now know a little more about the work of the team.
