Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

Today three team members were invited to give a presentation on Bolton MRT at the British Red Cross Development Day, which was aimed at BRC Emergency Response and Event First aid Service members.

All three, our Training Officer Alistair Greenough, Steve O’Hara and Heath Doran, journeyed late morning to the venue at Merseyside FRS, Croxteth Training Centre, Storrington avenue, Croxteth, Liverpool.

Commencing at circa 13.30hrs, Alistair presented a potted history of the team and discussed methods for recruitment and retention of volunteers in the team, training opportunities and also the types of incident the team are likely to be deployed to.

In particular there was discussion around the 2015 Boxing Day flood incidents attended by our team.

Finally the Red Cross staff were shown around the attending team land Rover Defender Mountain Rescue Ambulance, and discussed the kit carried and used by the team.
