Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

29th April 2016

Congratulations to team member, Phil Horner, who ran in the Manchester Marathon on 10th April 2016 and raised £180 from sponsorship for Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.

Despite suffering health problems last year and with very little training – his longest run in training was eight miles – Phil completed the course in 5 hours 45 minutes with no injuries to report.  Although the training was less than desired, he complied faithfully with the advice given by the organisers to refrain from any training the week before the event and eat plenty of pasta!

Phil thoroughly enjoyed the experience, so much so that he has signed up to do another marathon next year. Well done, Phil, thanks to your sponsors and many thanks from all team members.
