Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

22nd May 2016

On the 6th May 2016 the Mountain Rescue community lost a towering influence with the death of Dr Tony Jones, former Team Leader of Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation, North Wales and former MREW Vice Chairman.

Tony was a great support to Bolton Mountain Rescue during the formative years where team members would stay in the Ogwen base to carry out training exercises, and assist in incidents in North Wales.

Tony also supported Mike Marsh as he took over the running of the MREW Party Leaders course, offering his vast experience for Mike to learn from.

The funeral will take place on Thursday 26th May in Bangor Cathedral.

All in Bolton Mountain Rescue would like to offer condolences to the family and friends of Dr Tony Jones and thank him for all he has done for Mountain Rescue and Bolton Mountain Rescue.

Further information about the life of Dr Tony Jones can be found on the website of the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation.
