Marking the culmination of their charity fundraising for us over the last year, this evening representatives of the South Lancashire Section of the Caravan Club visited our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ to handover a substantial cheque to team members who were astonished at the large donation amount raised.
Regular readers will be aware that the South Lancashire Section of the Caravan Club have been steadfastly fundraising for the team, having made the team their charity beneficiary for their fundraising year 2010 – 2011.
Team members Craig Lamb and David Crawford familiarising themselves with the operation of the new Peli scene lighting equipment
The party from SLSCC were met initially at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ by Team President Bob Hutchinson, who showed the interested Caravan Club members around our two based Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulance vehicles.
All then went into our building, to be introduced to our Chairman Craig Lamb, Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, Training Officer Elaine Gilliland, and team members Ged Clarke, Mike Marsh, Paul Copley, Tony Dawson and David Crawford.
Gerry Lunn, SLSCC Charity Chairman, then handed over to our Team Leader an amazing donation of £4,200.00, which added to an earlier £100.00 donation from the SLSCC, meant they had raised the huge sum of £4,300.00 for us over their Charity Year 2010 – 2011.
Our President Bob Hutchinson then gave an address of thanks on behalf of the entire team membership.
In agreement with the South Lancashire Section of the Caravan Club, a large part of this donation (£2,877.52p to be precise) had been used against the very recent purchase of four Peli Products UK Limited RALS 9440 Portable Scene Lights (See ’news’ article dated Monday 18th July 2011) and the representatives present tonight from SLSCC were shown these lights, all clearly impressed with our purchase. (And more than one wanted one for their Caravanning trips!)
The whole team membership wishes to express how very grateful we are for this extremely generous donation from the South Lancashire Section of the Caravan Club and wish all the best to all its members for their future fundraising endeavours.
