Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

15th July 2011

Today our Life Vice President, Tony McNally was invited by Mrs Lynne Baker, Headteacher, to a morning assembly at Lowton St Mary’s Junior School. The 7 classes at the school from Year Reception to Year 6 had throughout the past year been raising money for their chosen charities. Year 5 along with their classteacher, Kelly, had chosen Bolton Mountain Rescue Team as their charity.

Each class gave an account of how they had raised money and presented cheques to representatives of their chosen charities. Altogether local and national charities benefitted from over £2000 that the 7 classes raised.

Earlier in the year Team President, Bob Hutchinson and Tony had paid a visit to the Year 5 children during their visit to the Rivington area and Tony was delighted to meet again with the children and their teacher and be presented with a cheque for £250 for the Team.

The whole of the membership of the Bolton Team express their thanks for the very generous contribution and the thoughtfulness of the children and staff of Lowon St Mary’s for the help they have given.
