Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

26th June 2011

At 1pm this afternoon, 4 team callout list members, Diane Blakeley, Samantha McKay (and Sam’s daugher, Molly), Alan James and trainee team member Phil Crook journeyed to Ellenbrook Primary and Community School to attend their Summer Fayre in one of our Team Land Rover Ambulances (BM2).

The extremeley warm day brought lots of people to visit the stalls including a bouncy castle, the face painting stalls, tombolas, and other similar stalls.

There was a lot of interest from the pupils from the school and their siblings; lots of them were jumping in and out of BM2 and are fascinated by what it can do!

One especially curious boy (named Brody), who had a huge interest in cars, wanted to know all about the team vehicles even down to how the four wheel drive system worked – and team member Alan James gave him a full tour of the vehicle (including underneath!) to explain how everything was connected together!

The team members present also gave aid to a young girl – coincidentally, one of Brody’s sisters – who had cut open her toe whilst running.

The children had lots of fun today trying on the team’s vacuum splints and having a go of the stretchers – we think that the team members will be going home for a well deserved rest later this afternoon!
