Whilst the bi monthly team council meeting was taking place the team was paged by NWAS control to assist with an injured mountain biker in Rivington terraced gardens. The team mobilised and on arrival met with the rapid response paramedic who was with the casualty who had suffered chest and possibly back injuries.
He was given pain relief, loaded into a vacuum mattress then onto our mountain rescue stretcher for a short carry off to the waiting ambulance. From Rivington he was transferred to Royal Preston Hospital major trauma centre for further assessment and treatment.
We wish the man a speedy recovery back to cycling the moors in our area.
