Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

30th August 2016

On 9th July 2016, Bolton Mountain Rescue Team was represented at Cedar Avenue Village Green Fete, organised by the Events Team of St Elizabeth’s Church, Horwich.  The weather was pretty dreadful and there was a “rescue” carried out during the event – one of the Church members was stuck in mud on his mobility scooter and the Team members helped him get free!

We have now received a generous donation of £100 towards our work from St Elizabeth’s Church Events Team and in the accompanying letter, their Chairman, Andy Ferrier, refers to the above incident and also the fact that one of our members returned after the event had finished, in their own vehicle, to pull a Portaloo Truck off the Village Green which was stuck solid in the mud.

Thanks to St Elizabeth’s Church for their kind donation – we were happy to help on the day but are sorry we could do nothing about the atrocious weather!
