On Saturday 10th September, we held a Bolton Mountain Rescue Team Community Awareness Day by kind permission of Morrisons Store at Gate Fold, Harwood.
A rota of four operational team members and eight of our support group members meant we were on hand throughout the day to answer customers’ questions about our voluntary search and rescue service, whilst outside the store one of our Mountain Rescue Land Rover Ambulances was on display with a stretcher and medical and rope equipment used in our work.
We were grateful for the interest shown by customers who paused from their shopping to talk to us and many kindly dropped donations into our collection boxes, resulting in an amazing total of £360.96 being raised during the event.
We would like to thank the management of Morrisons Harwood and their Community Champion, Julie Fletcher, for allowing the event to take place in their store, with special thanks to their interested customers for their support and generous donations.
