Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

15th November 2016

This evening 21 Beaver Scouts from the Lostock group, along with 4 of their leaders visited the Team base at our Ladybridge Hall Base.
There they were met by Team members Gill Leigh, Paul Copley, Heath Doran, Kris Kilshaw and John Ryan, where they had a short talk and watched a film showing the work of Mountain Rescue.
Following this the Beavers split into three groups. These smaller numbers enabled the Beavers to have a closer look at the Team’s stretcher and learn how to carry a Beaver Scout! They also learned how to save a life through chest compressions and mouth to mouth resuscitation. The Beavers then went on to find out more about one of our Landrovers – how the equipment is stored and, of course, how the sirens and blue lights work.
The group then presented the team with a very kind gift of chocolate and savoury biscuits, (which team members will enjoy on their next callout) and the very generous promise of a cheque in the post.
Team members were very impressed with how well-behaved the Beavers were and their eagerness to learn new things.
