Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

5th January 2017

At 10:54 this morning the team was contacted by the North West Ambulance Service who were requesting our assistance at an incident on Rivington Pike.

A 70 year old female was reported to have fainted on the summit of the Pike, on this very clear and crisp morning, and we were requested to attend to support an NWAS and the North West Air Ambulance who were also en-route.

The team mobilised to this incident and two of three team vehicles attending drove up to the summit of the Pike, arriving at 11:25. They met up with the Air Ambulance and an NWAS Officer, to find that the lady was being looked after in the aircraft by the crew.

Due to the nature of the lady’s condition it was decided that the best course of action was for her to be transported to Royal Bolton Hospital in a Bolton MRT vehicle, for further checkups.

In addition the family and friends of the casualty (and their two dogs!) were also transported separately back to their cars at Rivington Hall Barn in another BMRT vehicle.

Thanks are due to our colleagues at Bowland Pennine MRT who were placed on standby for this incident should additional resources be required, and also to three members of the public who rendered assistance and first aid to the lady immediately following her stumble.
