Local running club, the Darwen Dashers host a number of fell races the team assist with, tonight it was the Dark Un fell race.

The race starts from the Royal in Tockholes,  taking in the Roddlesworth Woods and Darwen Moor, starting at 19:30, it is advised runners wear head torches as, as the name implies, it is dark!

68 runners participated in the race, with Bolton Mountain Rescue supporting the race with 17 team members in 4 team LandRovers and our control vehicle.

Thankfully there were no injuries during the race requiring our assistance, however 10 runners went off route, but all found their way back to the start / finish with minimal assistance from ourselves.

We will continue to support Darwen Dashers for the fell races held on the West Pennine Moors.
