Today the BSF Ladies’ Rounders League held their annual sponsored walk/run. All those who took part can choose to raise 50% of their sponsorship monies for Bolton MRT and 50% for their Rounders team or donate 100% to Bolton MRT. The event started from Darcy Lever Cricket Club, Hacken Lane, and involved a four mile walk through Moses Gate Country Park, into Little Lever and returning via Radcliffe Road back to Hacken Lane. Team President Bob Hutchinson, and Team members Diane Blakeley, Martin Banks, Phil Crook and Naomi Horan attended part of the event in the brand new Bolton Mobile 1 Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulance, this being its first fundraising event. Having just missed the start (That’s another story !) the team drove along part of the course waving to the walkers/runners. They then headed off to join the rest of the team who were already on Good Friday ’duty’ in the Rivington area, with the BM1 crew receiving the White Coppice call out, as they passed through Horwich.
A big thank you to all those who attended and helped to organise the event, and of course thanks to Darcy Lever Cricket Club for hosting the start and finish.
BSF’s next fundraising event on behalf of the team is a quiz on Friday 13th May 2011.
