Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

3rd April 2017

Mr Clive Burke of Bolton sadly passed away on 29th May 2015.  He was a keen member of the Cyclists Touring Club (now Cycling UK) and was also a ‘Munro-bagger’ having ascended the majority of the Munros in Scotland.

In his Will he bequeathed the very generous sum of £13,257.64 to Bolton Mountain Rescue Team with similar amounts to Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team and the RNLI.  His widow, Mrs Sarah Burke, visited our Secretary, Gillian Gregory, recently to deliver the cheque personally, which meant Gillian was able to thank Sarah for her husband’s thoughtfulness and great support of our work.

A plaque dedicated to Clive’s memory will be displayed at our HQ.
