Whilst responding to Incident 47/2017 Rossendale & Pendle MRT received a second call for assistance with an incident at Greenbooth Reservoir, Rochdale.

Oldham MRT who neighbour RPMRT on the Rochdale side were already committed to a separate water incident, the water team members responding to the Ewood Park incident redirected to assist with the Rochdale incident, swinging by our base to collect the boat and other water equipment.

On reaching Greenbooth Reservoir, the team fell under the control of the primary emergency services of Greater Manchester Police and Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service. After assessing resources, the team were deemed to be surplus to requirements and were stood down.

A short time later a boys body was recovered from the reservoir.
