Yesterday, the team attended the annual Darwen 999 Day held in the centre of Darwen.  At this year’s event, as well as Bolton Mountain Rescue Team, were Lancashire Police and Fire & Rescue Services, and Rosemere Cancer Foundation.  We also met our friends and supporters from the Rotary Club of Darwen, who were promoting their Lego Darwen Tower project inside the adjacent market.

Three of our Support Group members looked after our fundraising stall, whilst seven operational members answered questions from the public about our search and rescue service, equipment and vehicles. We had visits from the Mayors of Blackburn and Darwen and many members of the general public.

We are very grateful for the great interest shown in our work by all who visited us and thankful for the fantastic donations totalling £220.08.
