Yesterday, in weather better suited to ducks, eight of our Support Group members operated a charity collection in the entrance of ASDA’s store at Astley Bridge.

Thanks to the generosity of the rather wet and windswept customers, our collectors received donations to the marvellous total of £245.98. (Although no longer able to spend their old round £1 coins, we were happy to take them to deposit in our charity bank account.)

We wish to express our thanks to the management of ASDA, their Community Champion Christine Baldwin, and especially the many kind customers who paused from their shopping to drop donations into our buckets.
