Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

28th January 2011

This afternoon the team hosted a visit by six teenage members of Greater Manchester Police ‘K’ Division Voluntary Police Cadets, along with their instructor and mentor GMP PC Trish Shepherd.

Trish and the cadets were met by our Training Officer Elaine Gilliland, and Team Probationary Team Members Scott Beresford, Paul Copley and Phil Cook.

Following an introductory talk on the work of the team by Elaine, with lots of interjection by the probationers on what they had already learned, all the Cadets then had a very detailed overview of the search and rescue equipment carried on our Team Landrovers and a tour of the two vehicles garaged at Ladybridge by Scott, Paul and Phil.

The Cadets and their accompanying instructor all had many questions to ask and said at the end of their visit they had all enjoyed their afternoon with the team and had learned a vast amount about what the team do and what services they can offer to the emergency services and the community.

(GMP PC Trish Shepherd is familiar with our search work, and the work that we do with the North West Ambulance Service as she was on duty in Royal Bolton Hospital on New Years Eve/Day)
