We are very happy to report on the visit last night to our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ by eleven year old Krisshan Jade Weedall, in the company of her mother and father, Alison and Dave, to personally hand over a donation to the team.
Krisshan, aged eleven, of Plodder Lane, Farnworth, a pupil at Harper Green School, has been described by The Bolton News, as Bolton’s ’Youngest Busker.’ (You can see her singing via the Bolton News website, – video links, and also on You Tube)
Krisshan sings on Newport Street, within Bolton town centre, donating a large part of her ’earnings’ to charity. (Her ’spot’ is between Greggs and Greenhalghs, usually on a Saturday)
Since September 2010, upto the end of December 2010 Krisshan has managed to raise the fantastic amount of £350.00 for local charities.
Each charity is chosen personally by Krisshan, and so far she has supported the RSPCA, MacMillan Nurses, Kidz 2Gether Horwich (Autistic Children), Bolton Destitute Animal Shelter, Roald-Dahl Foundation for Epileptics, and now Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.
Arriving at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ last night, (Wednesday 5th January) Krisshan and her mum and dad, were welcomed by team members Samantha McKay and Gillian Leigh, who gave them all a tour of our premises.
They then stayed to watch a training session take place under team members Mark Scott’s tuition, on First Aid with our Probationary members.
Krisshan then met our Team Leader Garry Rhodes, along with Team Training Officer Elaine Gilliland, Mike Marsh, Team Secretary Gillian Gregory and Trainee member Martin Banks.
We all learnt that Krisshan has attended the first round of auditions for ’Britains Got Talent,’ and is awaiting news of being selected, (Good Luck from all the Bolton MRT Krisshan)
Krisshan then very kindly handed over a cash donation of £50.00 to our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, and Team Secretary Gillian Gregory.
Trainee member Martin Banks then gave Krisshan, and her parents a tour / look over of one of our Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulances.
At the end of her evening with us, Krisshan very kindly promised that she would try to raise some more money for the team.
The team members who were present during Krisshan’s visit all commented afterwards that they had found her charity fundraising efforts inspirational, particularly given the age of Krisshan.
