Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

27th May 2010

Very valued friend and supporter of the team, Councillor Robert Ronson of Horwich, a lifelong experienced hillwalker, (as is his wife, Councillor Barbara Ronson, also a valued team friend and hill walker) celebrated his 75th birthday on Saturday 22nd May with a party for family and friends. Also celebrating a birthday was the family pet cat reaching the grand old age of 21, which according to Barbara, Bob hoped would draw attention away from his own advancing years and that his age would go unnoticed. We understand that both Bob (and the cat) had a thoroughly enjoyable party in glorious warm sunny weather.

Bob very thoughtfully asked for donations to Bolton Mountain Rescue Team in lieu of birthday gifts and today we were extremely pleased to receive from his wife, Councillor Barbara Ronson, the marvellous total of £125.01 – maybe the odd penny was from the cat?!

The whole team membership extends (belated) 75th Birthday wishes to Councillor Robert (Bob) Ronson for his thoughtful and very kind support of the team, along of course with all who made donations to the team in honour of his birthday.
