This morning our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE was put in contact with a Bolton gentleman who wished to support the team by making a donation.
The gentleman explained that he followed the work of the team through articles in the local paper, the Bolton News, and wished to support us following some recent press on the team.
In conversation our Team Leader arranged to meet this gentleman at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ this same afternoon, as some team members including Garry our Leader would co-incidentally be at our Base / HQ.
As this gentleman did not have his own transport, our Life Vice President Tony McNally offered to collect this gentleman from his Bolton home and take him to Ladybridge Hall, with the offer being accepted.
Once at our Base / HQ, Tony McNally gave our guest a conducted tour of our premises, following which other team members arrived, consisting of our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, Deputy Team Leader Geoff Seddon, Training Officer Elaine Gilliland, and Team Call Out list members Chris Tennant and Steve Nelson.
Our guest then made his donation, which to the astonishment and total surprise of all present was for the truely generous amount of £1,000.00.
At the request of this very kind, thoughtful and supportive gentleman, we have maintained his wish to remain anonymous, whilst recording our heartfelt and sincere thanks here.
At the conclusion of our guests visit today we presented him with some Bolton MRT Supporters stickers, and some Mountain Rescue Lapel badges, with our Team Leader Garry then taking him back home.
