Alongside Mark and Bob, tonight team member Gill Leigh was presented with her 10 years long service certificate, awarded by the Mid-Pennine Search and Rescue Organisation.

Gill, a party leader and former team secretary, first joined the team as a teenager whilst doing her Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Since that time Gill’s antics in the team have become well documented (but many are not suitable for publication here – Editor).

An excellent hill companion, mountaineer and Casualty Care Certificate holder since the early days, Gill was a team member from 1985-1994 and rejoined the team in July 2009.
