At 00.55hrs early this morning the team was paged by a Greater Manchester Police Missing Person Search Manager regards the teams immediate assistance with a search to locate a vulnerable man in the Redisher Wood area on the moorland fringes above Holcombe Brook, Bury.
Once our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE had established the necessary details, the team was paged at 01.07hrs to RVP as soon as possible at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ for onward deployment to the search RVP in team vehicles.
As our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE arrived at the search RVP at the Hare and Hounds Public House, Holcombe Brook, at 01.45hrs, (and with our Deputy Leader Geoff Seddon also on route and nearby to the RVP) GMP Officers on scene received the news that relatives of the missing man had located him and had taken him to hospital for treatment.
By this stage 12x team members were ready to depart our Ladybridge Hall, Bolton, Base / HQ with a further two members ready to depart our Bolton Fire Station vehicle base with a Team Land Rover and our Control Trailer, with all members stood down by pager at 01.56hrs once Police had confirmed that the man had indeed been located.
