Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

11th July 2009

Today team members Chris Tennant and Paul Brain travelled to Warrington to take part in a course on Introduction to Managing Conflict, Aggression & Violence, at the invitation of our friends from Cheshire Search & Rescue.

The course was run free of charge by Ian McClure of Just ONE Recruitment & Training Limited, who provide consultancy and training courses to a diverse range of organisations.

The course today was entitled an Introduction to ’Managing Conflict, Aggression & Violence’, which began with management models of aggression, peppered with real life scenarios and discussions on what situations Search and Rescue team personnel may find themselves in. The legal aspects of reacting to aggression followed including startling statistics and photographs of victims of knife crime.

The afternoon session involved a practical session on defence techniques.

Completing this course has equipped our team members with the skills to identify the signs of aggression, to stop aggression from escalating further and how to retreat from threatening situations.

Chris and Paul would like to thank Cheshire SAR for their hospitality and Ian McClure and Just ONE Recruitment & Training Limited for giving up their Saturday to deliver this useful and informative course.

Anybody interested in completing this or other courses, Just ONE Recruitment & Training Limited website address is www.justone.org.uk or can be contacted on 0151 724 6047.
