Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

28th June 2009

Today Belmont Primary School completed a sponsored walk to benefit Bolton Mountain Rescue team. The walk started from Belmont School, taking the Wrights Arms track to Winter Hill Summit, dropping down to Coal Pit Road, across to Horrocks Fold, then down to Longworth Clough before returning to Belmont School.

All four of our Mountain Rescue Ambulances, with 16 team callout members, were out in the area, available to support any walkers who got in to trouble. Thankfully our services were not required.

In total 80 pupils, ex-pupils, parents and staff, started the walk, joined by some of our Full Team Callout members walking part of the route with the school.

The team would like to thank the staff, pupils, parents and supporters of Belmont Primary School for the support they have shown towards the team, with special thanks to Headteacher Chris Hoddle.

And the final sum raised for the team? Early reports suggest the school has raised in excess of £500 for the team. Watch this space for the final amount.
