Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

18th December 2008

The regional BBC news program Northwest Tonight is featuring a festive ’groups’ singing Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer item with viewers invited to submit their film clips.

Of course we could not resist, so last night at the conclusion of our exercise all 38 team members, support group members and an ex-member present, gave their rendition of Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, little thinking we would have a chance of appearing on television.

This evening our moment of fame came (hardly X Factor or Last Choir Standing!) when we were featured in the early evening regional news bulletin. The team is now taking Christmas ditty bookings as its vocal fame inevitably spreads.

Unfortunately for us in terms of PR we were upstaged later this same evening on the ITV regional program, which gave almost a whole 10 minute time slot to our colleagues at Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team following the team and its members through their valuable work in their team patch. (Excellent report; will Hollywood casting directors now be knocking on the door of RPMRT husband and wife duo Ted and Jenny Handley now they are stars of the small screen?)
