Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

10th December 2008

This evening the family of former team member and ex-Deputy Team Leader, Jenny Field, visited our Ladybridge Hall base / HQ to look at the plaque we erected at the teams HQ in memory of Jenny, who died in October 2007. (see news articles dated 25th October 2007, 9th November 2007, 18th November 2007 and 8th December 2007.)

Dave Field, husband of Jenny, together with their children Jane (with her partner) and Paul (who the older team members remember as young children) visited base HQ where they were met by our President Bob Hutchinson, Deputy Team Leader Geoff Seddon and founding member Alan ’General’ James, all of whom served alongside Jenny during her time in the team (Jenny left the team around 1990.)

As well as looking at the plaque, the family also had the opportunity to look at our Ladybridge Hall base HQ, when Jenny was in the team the team operated out of our now demolished former base at Overdale Youth Training Centre.

In a surprise gesture to the team, Dave had recently won a very large bottle of whisky in a raffle, and has in turn very kindly donated it to the team to be raffled off in order to raise funds for the team.

Our thoughts remain with Dave over the loss of his wife Jenny, and Jane and Paul over the loss of their mother, and hope their grief is now easier to deal with, with the passage of time.
