For the third year running, the team has sent a contingent of team call out list members to the annual Training Weekend organised by the Dartmoor Rescue Group.
This year is the 40th Anniversary of the Dartmoor Rescue Group, which through its constituent teams collectively provide a search and rescue service primarily for the Dartmoor area, but like our team also assist the Police and Ambulance services where ever their services may be of help.
Setting off mid this afternoon, our Team Chairman Ken Oakes, John Parish and trainee team members Elaine Gilliland and Steven Kenworthy commenced the long journey south in our Mountain Rescue Landrover Ambulance vehicle ’BM4’ to join with MRT and SRT colleagues, mainly from the South West of England, who regularly attend this exercise.
A full report on this weekend which is based at Okehampton Battle Camp, hopefully with pictures, will appear shortly.
