Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

9th October 2008

This evening long serving and very experienced team call out list member Alison Yates took the hard decision to leave the teams call out list membership.

Alison joined the team way back in August 1992 as a young General Nurse allied to her hill walking experiences and her DoE Award work.

Although Alison has somehow in her years in the team ’avoided’ getting involved in the Team Council (some would say the fate of all team members with any length of service behind them) she has organised, often totally on her own many Team Annual Dinners and Team Ceilidths over the years.

Within the team as a very well liked and respected team member, Alison became one of the teams most senior Party Leaders.
Alison met her future husband Geoff Yates (and now himself an ex team member) within the team, marrying Geoff in September 1999.

Due to work commitments and family, Alison has now decided to ’hang up her pager’ and retire from the team.

We all wish Alison well in her retirement from the team and now wonder how Geoff is going to cope with having his wife home for an extra evening every week!
