This morning our Team Leader, Garry Rhodes MBE and Deputy Team Leader Geoff Seddon, met with Dr Brian Iddon, MP for Bolton South East, to discuss the progress to date by HM Government with regards to considering financial support for Mountain Rescue Teams within England and Wales.
Dr Brian Iddon, a long term friend and supporter of the team, kindly gave up over an hour of his time to meet Garry and Geoff at his Bolton Constituancy Office, to listen to Garry and Geoff talk about the current financing of the Bolton MRT and Mountain Rescue in general.
Dr Brian Iddon is a member of the All Party Parliamentary Mountain Rescue and Search Group, and has had a long association with the team. He listened intently to Garry and Geoff and promised to raise the profile of Mountain Rescue and some of the issues we discussed whenever future opportunities to do so in Parliamentary circles allow for.
Our Team Leader and Deputy Team Leader would like to thank Dr Brian Iddon for his time and interest shown in the Bolton MRT during their visit, and for his support of Mountain Rescue in general.
