This morning at 04:15 Hrs GMP telephoned our TL with regards for an urgent search of a high risk vulnerable missing person in the Sale Water Park area of Sale. As Garry was still on holiday, GMP contacted Geoff Seddon, our Deputy Team Leader. As Geoff was about to page the Team for a call out, the missing person turned up safe and sound.
Whilst assembling for the Belmont Village Winter Hill fell race at 11:24 Hrs, Lancashire Constabulary paged the Team, for assistance with an Incident at White Coppice, Anglezarke. The call was quickly answered by one of our Call Out Contacts, Dave Healey, and as this is Bowland Pennine MRT Area the call was passed to them, we later found out it was a fell runner with a broken leg.
So we continued our departure for the fell race.
Whilst on the Belmont Village Winter Hill fell race, NWAS (GMA) contacted Garry regarding an incident in Shevington, Wigan. Again Garry passed the call to Geoff at 14:38 Hrs, who contacted NWAS (GMA), but the ambulance crew had managed to get to the casualty and our services were no longer required.
So we carried on with the concluding part of the fell race.
As members were preparing for a relaxing evening at home Geoff Seddon paged the Team with a callout in the Bryn area of Wigan for NWAS (GMA), within a minute of the request for assistance Geoff paged the Team again with a Stand Down messgae, again the ambulance crew had managed to gain access to the casualty.
So, at the time of typing this, all members are relaxing with their families and enjoying this, very nice, warm, early summer evening. What could have been a very hectic day for the Team, thankfully turned into a quiet one.
