Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

23rd December 2007

Whilst on pre-arranged Christmas standby to assist NWAS with a possible peak demand loading on its resources (as part of its step-up plan, as per the introduction to the previous incident), the team had personnel and vehicles on standby at our LBH base.

As with the standby cover we provided yesterday evening, Saturday 22nd December, the peak demand loading on the ambulance service was considerably less than was expected with thankfully little call on the team’s resources other than of course the previous incident.

The only incident attended directly with regards to this standby was a code green emergency in the Horwich area of Bolton with the team responding to a residential incident and subsequently transporting the casualty to Royal Bolton Hospital.

The team continues to help NWAS with such peak demand periods, usually we are very busy on such occassions as readers of this website will know, but on this occassion and last night our services were not in great demand (the team is also providing pre-planned cover to assist NWAS on the nights of the 30th and 31st December.
